GENOMES, DISEASES, and EVOLUTION

Our laboratory has just started at the University of Tokyo in July 2017. We are planning to investigate the following projects:

  1. Evolution of genetic variations influencing susceptibility for life style related diseases in East Asia
  2. Human adaptation to cold environments in East Asia
  3. Epigenome diversity among East Asians
  4. Demographic history of Mongolians

We approach these issues using collection of DNA samples, genotyping experiments, in vitro functional assay, and evolutionary genetics analyses.

We welcome students eager to learn about human biology and evolution. Admission information is here. Please do not hesitate contact us.
